Timothy Gaines is probably best known as a founding member, bass player, and keyboardist of the 80’s Christian super group – Stryper.
Picking up the bass guitar in 1975, Timothy was soon a regular of the Hollywood club scene. After recommitting his life to Christ in 1983, Tim joined the Sweet brothers Robert and Michael, and guitarist Oz Fox in the band Roxx Regime. Signing with indie label Enigma Records in 1984 they soon changed their name to Stryper. Strypers success over a quarter century has been well documented in over 10 million in album sales, a Grammy nomination, and recipients of multiple Dove awards.
Apart from Stryper, Timothy has toured and performed with many fine artists such as Richard Marx, Ashley Cleveland, Kim Hill, Susan Ashton, Bryan Duncan, Tourniquet, and band Bostons own Kimberley Dahme to name a few.
Timothy is currently recording his first ever bass solo instrumental album entitled “Breakfast at Timothy’s.” The 12 song album is being produced by Tims good friend, producer/songwriter - Chris Eddy (son of guitar great Duane Eddy.) With a planned release date of September ’09, we will be offering the album for sale here, as well as the upcoming Stryper World Tour, and it should be available for download from iTunes.
Timothy will be joining Stryper this September 2009 for their 25 year anniversary world tour. Check out the Concerts for a show near you
